PC

A desktop PC or a laptop with an additional monitor is provided to IBS-CGP members and longterm visitors. If you bring your own laptop or tablet PC, you can use our wired/wireless internet service.

Printer

We have one all-in-one (copy/print/scan) network printer at the CGP Main Hall. All IBS-CGP members and visitors with any OS platform (Windows, Mac, Linux) supporting network protocol (IPP, LPD, etc.) may access and use the printer.

Network

The IBS-CGP networks are based on the network infrastructure of POSTECH, which connects to the Internet with super-speed Ethernet lines. The local area network (LAN) of the POSTECH campus is established with a 1-Gigabit Ethernet server. In addition, four E1 class commercial network lines and two E1 class research network lines are also used to connect to the Internet.

Server for Computation and Webpages

IBS-CGP operates a Linux-based high-performance computation server that can be used to run several CAS (computer algebra systems) such as Mathematica and Maple. We also provide publishing service for research-related (conferences and seminars) or personal webpages.

Software

POSTECH has a lot of site-licensed software which run on various platforms, and IBS-CGP also has licenses for the following software:

  • Adobe Products : Acrobat (Windows/Mac), Illustrator (Windows/Mac), Photoshop (Windows/Mac)

  • Virtualization : VMWare (Windows/Mac/Linux)
  • Other : Anti-virus programs (Windows), Altools (Windows), etc.
