Prof. Yuri Prokhorov gives a series of lectures on "Classification of smooth Fano 3-folds" for senior graduate students and fresh Ph.D.'s in algebraic geometry. The series of lectures will be given by ten 90-min. lectures from April 16 to April 27.

  • Shokurov's theorem about a smooth anticanonical member.
  • Fano 3-folds of index 2
  • Base points in the anticanonical system.
  • Hyperelliptic and trigonal Fano 3-folds. Embeddings.
  • Fano 3-folds of index 2 and Picard number 1. Sarkisov links. Examples. Classification.
Lectures use Mori theory on basic level: 3-dimensional and smooth case.
