On behalf of IBS-CGP and POSTECH, I would like to extend our warmest greetings.
An ideal science research institution should serve an important function as a place which fosters the disinterested pursuit of learning and the fundamental innovative thinking that advances individual fields of inquiry of an intellectual community. Even though Korea has rich and long intellectual history, modern science and mathematics are relatively new and have only been recently developing in Korea for general public to experience the full benefit of this high-minded intellectual pursuit. Especially, institutes dedicated solely to mathematics are very rare. I wish IBS-CGP serves this function of creating such an environment.
We hope you consider joining us in our ongoing endeavor to harmonize pure mathematics and theoretical physics at the IBS Center for Geometry and Physics.
